STONEWALL WAS A RIOT silkscreen print featuring American actress Judy Garland (1922-1969) as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz (1939). Judy, who was an icon for the gay community of the time, died on June 22, 1969 and her funeral was held hours before the Stonewall Riots started. According to the legend, when the police raided the Stonewall Inn, people in the bar used their grief over Judy’s death to rise up and fight back.
Original design by Javipop, hand printed with pride for "friends of Dorothy" and free spirited people.

Signed Limited Pride 2019 Edition printed manually in two colors, cyan and magenta.
Each color is hand pulled individually using different screens, making each copy slightly different from the others in the serie.
